First Announcement

  Dear Colleague,
 
Following a longstanding tradition, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University will organize a Spring School on Analysis. The School will be held at Paseky nad Jizerou, in a chalet in the Krkonose mountains, April 27 - May 3, 2003.

The purpose of this meeting is to bring together adepts with common interest in the field. There will be opportunities for informal discussions.
Graduate students and others beginning their mathematical career are encouraged to participate.

The conference fee will be EUR 350. In the case that a letter guaranteeing participation reaches the organizers before January 15, 2003, the fee will be reduced to EUR 300.
The conference fee includes all local expenses (accomodation and board) and transport between Prague and Paseky and back.
The fee for accompanying person is the same.
The organizers may provide financial support to a limited number of students. Applications must be sent before January 15, 2003.
Payment should be made in cash at the registration board in Paseky, or it may be remitted by a bank transfer to

(a copy of the transfer slip should be presented at the registration desk at Paseky). Unfortunately, neither cheques nor credit cards can be used and will not be accepted.

The village of Paseky lies in the slopes of the Krkonose Mountains in the North Bohemia. Accomodation consists of rooms for two or three people. A single room can be arranged on demand if the capacity of the chalet allows. In such a case additional EUR 100 will be charged.

The vicinity of the chalet is suitable for wonderful hiking trips. Moreover, there are excelent facilities for various sporting activities such as soccer, mini-golf, fitness center, snooker, darts and sauna.

A special bus from Prague to Paseky will leave at 4 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2003. The bus from Paseky will arrive in Prague on Saturday, May 3, 2003 around 12 am.

Due to the limited capacity of accomodation facilities the organizers may be forced to decline the registration.
